Discover What The Stony Brook Shisha Society Is All About.
Stony Brook, New York - May 22, 2006
Students at Stony Brook University uncover their own story about the Hookah craze in America.
Q: How did you and your friends get into smoking the Hookah?
A: It is interesting to note that there are a few ways of which our group was influenced by the Hookah. A group of laid back individuals and Irfan would setup their own Hookahs from time to time. The atmosphere created by the Hookah was unbelievable, which led to many of the group members purchasing their own Hookahs from SouthSmoke.com. This web site really enhanced our experience, with fantastic Hookahs, free shipping, and unique shisha flavors not offered elsewhere.
Q:What does your group like most about smoking the Hookah?
A:We pretty much all share the same ideas about why our group likes smoking the Hookah. It is definately aromatic and some of the shisha flavors taste decadent. It is also very relaxing and brings friends together almost everywhere there is a Hookah set up. It's basically a good way for the group to get together, stir up conversations, and enjoy the aromas that the shisha offers.
Q:Do you feel that Hookah smoking is becoming more popular on your college campus?
A:We all basically agree that Hookah smoking is becoming quite popular among students at Stony Brook University. In fact, we all look forward to smoking the Hookah on a regular basis. It's like a relaxing party with no end in sight.
Q:What kinds of shisha flavors do you mix to enhance your smoking experience?
A:We all pretty much agree that we are like mad scientists since we're constantly mixing flavors in search for the best ones. Some of the shisha mixes we enjoy include Raspberry and Banana, Jasmine and Lemon, Pomegranate and Honey, and Watermelon and Blueberry. Etan enjoys adding a hint of Mint to many of the shisha flavors we smoke, discovering such mixes as Strawberry Mint. Even when mixing odd flavors like Sour Apple and Banana Split, it still ends up being a decent smoke. If we're not mixing shisha flavors, we're experimenting with different filters for the vase, using liquids such as milk, red wine, orange soda, fruit juices, and popsicles.
Q:What type of Hookah model do you prefer?
A:A majority of the group members have purchased or acquired Hookahs from SouthSmoke.com, our Official Club Sponsor. Max likes keeping it simple, avoiding flashy sculptures or irregular shaped hookah vases. One of Max's favorites is the Dynamic Single Hose Rotating Hookah - it's tall, well balanced, pulls smoothly, and rotates. Max prefers Hookahs that are at least 26 inches in height, since they allow a larger amount of fluid in the vase which keeps the Hookah cooler and cleaner for a longer period of time. Overall, the group basically owns Hookahs ranging from the simple Identity to the sophisticaed Illusion.
