The Scene
Settees, sounds and smokes: This odd little cultural nugget, an extension of the wildly successful Mediterranean Cafe, melds East and West by introducing hookahs to the rumpled coffeehouse crowd. What's a hookah? It's a big fancy water pipe used for smoking aromatic tobacco, a major pastime in India and the Near East—and soon, Las Vegas. If you're looking for a dose of cultural authenticity, however, keep searching: The Hookah Lounge is a not-quite-traditional smoking room spritzed with a Gen X vibe, from the electronic music to the lively twenty-something clientele.
The Smokes
There are as many tobaccos here as most coffeehouses have grinds, from mainstays like apple and strawberry to more recent concoctions such as mint and cappuccino. If you're not the partaking type, never fear: The Hookah Lounge also serves coffee, beer and wine.
