The Scene Co-owners of Dunes Mediterranean Grill Hasan Druz and Ghasan Albakry are trying to make Mediterranean food fun and easy. And by "fun and easy" we're talking about grabbing a tray and selecting from foods that are served by an eager to inform staff who explains the finer points of dishes with some serious history behind them. Inspired by "Ottoman Turks, Egyptian, Indian, Greek and French Rulers and Arab tribes," Dunes' fare is quite a culinary expedition. Options include more traditional stuff like hummus, falafel and gyros, but for those looking to expand their horizons a little bit, there are things like the Kafta kabob plate served with ground beef, onions, parsley and Syrian spices, and the lamb shank (baked lamb, special spices, rice and a salad.) If you want to take the kiddos, Dunes offers a cool kids menu with burgers, chicken strips and other "safe" selections.
